HMHI’s Family Night at the Family Museum engages the entire family in an evening of fun and treats that will help Quad City families experiencing homelessness. The newly renovated Family Museum in Bettendorf will open its doors for a special Friday evening session on June 12 from 5:30-7:30 PM. The evening offers participants many special opportunities. Admission is $5 for individuals and $20 for families. Members of the Family Museum attend free. Proceeds benefit Humility of Mary Housing’s housing program that serves homeless families.

Each admission includes access to the Family Museum’s newly renovated exhibits. In addition, the evening of June 12 will offer the first opportunity for the Quad City public to enjoy the Rainforest Adventure, a new traveling summer exhibit [download pdf] or visit the museum’s webpage to learn more about it. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its opening. Complementary hot dogs, chips, beverage and cookie is included in each admission, so families can enjoy an informal meal during their evening out.

In addition to the interactive exhibits at the museum, the Family Museum will provide special children’s activity tables that evening. In addition, participants will enjoy the balloon art personally created for them by Karen Habernicht. And attendees will also enjoy complementary access to the services of Cari Cooney of QC Painted Faces. It promises the public an evening full of fun, activity and enjoyment.

Museum attendance is limited, so purchase your advance tickets online and avoid disappointment. If available, tickets may be purchased at the door.

HMHI’s Family Night at the Family Museum delivered a great time

HMHI family night benefit
Children, learning and activities all added up to fun at HMHI’s benefit evening at the Family Museum in Bettendorf.

Colorful images, positive energy and good feeling abounded at HMHI’s benefit evening at the Family Museum in Betterdorf on Saturday. Children begged for “just five more minutes” as the clock struck closing time. But, after three hours of nonstop activity, at least some parents were ready to call it an evening.

Many sponsors and benefactors contributed to make the event a low-cost, high-interest entertainment option for Quad Cities families. Royal Neighbors of America was our principle event sponsor. Food and beverage was contributed by J H Lass Co. and McDonald’s. Balloon artist Karen Habenicht charmed young and old. The HMHI Development Committee planned, prepared and carried out the evening, supported by helpful volunteers.

Enjoy the myriad sights and feel the joy of the evening as you view this short collection of images from our Family Night at the Family Museum!
